My essential baby items

I'm not a mum but after many years of looking after babies and being an Auntie of two I have decided to do a blog on useful baby products that I like. I have steered away from giving advice for products used for breastfeeding, post partum products as cant really advise on these not being a Mum myself.

1. Infracol Colic relief Drops              2.Infracare baby bath

3.Tommee Tippee Cups

4.Baby wipes                                                                  5.Teethers

Weaning Kit- What you need to start

Think the images above are self explanatory.  I'm not recommending any particular brands just make sure when you buy that they are BPA free plastic so there are harm free to your child.  Supermarket baby events are great for getting bowls, spoons etc for cheap and the Ikea bowls are very hard wearing in my experience and used these in nursery.  Look online for blender reviews.  I prefer using a hand blender to whizz baby food but you can use other blenders it all does the same job at the end of the day.

Did you find this blog useful? Any other recommended products I've missed?

Places to go in Brighton with Kids

On a visit to Brighton a couple of weekends ago I got to go to Laser Zone with a great bunch of ladies.  I haven't been laser questing for a long time and thought this could be fun and I was right it was brilliant!

We had two games which were about £5 each for an adult and that buys you a 15 minute game.  We were split into two teams of seven and six.  For those of you who have never done laserquest before the aim of the game is to shoot at each other with your electric packs and different teams are different colours.  Cant say I was particularly brilliant if I'm honest but had a lot of fun doing so.  They do birthday parties which I think would be great fun for kids.  What I will say is that it was a very hot day in Brighton so maybe pick your time wisely as you will get very sweaty!!!

After all that sweating you will do you should head to Sprinkles Gelato Shop.  I am a Sussex born girl so have been to Brighton many times but never have been here but glad I have now I had the yummiest sundae for £4.50 and that got me six scoops of my choice.  There are so many flavours of ice cream to choose from as well as waffles and other yummy desserts.

If your not to full up of sweet treats head to the seafront and enjoy some fish and chips on the beach.  Plenty of places to choose from just wonder along the coast road and you will find them.  We didn't go on the pier in the end but I have been on countless trips to Brighton and there are acarades and rides typical of an English pier.

Finally a trip to Brighton should involve a trip to the famous Choccywoccydoodah Shop.
See the amazing cakes that are available for your special event or buy some treats or go and have a sweet treat/drink upstairs in the cafĂ©.  To note they also have a London base so check out the website for more details.

I realise this post has mainly been about food lol but other activities done on this weekend were not child friendly so this is it I'm afraid.  I can recommend The Sealife Centre also but cant review this as I haven't been recently.

I recommend a trip to Brighton loads to do and places to visit and if the weather is good great to be on the beach.  For more info on places to go see thishttp://kidsinbrighton.co.uk/places_to_go/places_to_go.html

Activity of the week-Lino Printing

I spent a gorgeous hen weekend in Chletenham and one of our activities was Lino Printing. My best friends friend Liz runs creative workshops which may I say I found fantastic and as a an art teacher as well often does this with children as well.

I think this type of activity would be suitable for older children as when making your stencil you have to use sharp tools and can be fiddly so not one for very small ones and it requires a lot of patience.
I am not arty in the slightest but was surprised how much I enjoyed myself and got to walk away with  a tote bag with my design on which is already very useful!!

To find local lino printing workshops use google or where to buy materials etc

Toliet training your child 2

A while ago I did a blog on Toliet training see below for the link. Since then I have thought about revamping or doing a newer version as my nieces first attempt at it didn't go to plan and just wasn't ready.
http://nannybicester.blogspot.co.uk/2016/02/how-to-deal-withtoilet-training-in-my.html

This week she's been absolutely awesome and conquered some number 1s and 2s on her training seat and is very excited to show me her frozen stickers and has already achieved her first present!!

Updated tips

1. If your child is not ready do not force it, maybe they just aren't ready.  Come back to it at a later date.
2. My niece seems to prefer the training seat particularly as its Frozen themed I guess.  If they really don't get on with the potty maybe try this instead. My advice is to get on with a high back like the one below.

3. As I have said before overdo the praise and encouragement.  They will soon work out this leads to good things.

Hope you have enjoyed this short post
